Xbox One will get the Battlefield Hardline open beta later this year; check out 6 minutes of multiplayer footage from E3 [VIDEO]

EA just stepped forward and revealed some new footage from Battlefield Hardline, their first shooter in the series that breaks away from the traditional war format and takes to the streets for some cops and robbers fun. The gameplay trailer showed some very cool elements, including the ability to jump straight from a zipline to a motorcycle in a grand escape from a bank heist.

At the end of the presentation EA revealed that the closed beta would begin today, and that it would be exclusive to PS4 and PC. That leaves Xbox One fans out, unfortunately, but don’t fret — you will eventually get a chance to play the beta before the game comes out. EA has revealed that the open beta will be available for the following platforms at some point down the line:

  • Xbox One
  • Xbox 360
  • PC
  • PlayStation 4
  • PlayStation 3

So while you won’t be getting in on the fun today, you’ll have your chance when the time comes. Unfortunately we’re not sure when, exactly, that time will be, but you can bet it will be ahead of the game’s scheduled launch of October 21st, 2014.
