Last year, the Xbox One launched in 13 markets, which included: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, the UK and the US. The console was originally scheduled to release in 21 territories, but Microsoft delayed its launch in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland. These eight markets are all listed in today’s announcement, however absent from the list is China, a territory that is rumored to receive the Xbox One sometime in late 2014.
In addition to revealing these new markets, Hryb said that Microsoft will have more launch details to share at a local level towards the end of April. No word if any of these markets will have a Day One edition version of the console to call their own. We’ve reached out to Microsoft for comment and will update this article if any new information becomes available.
