Electronic Arts has reportedly secured the rights to publish the next installment in Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall franchise, according to the folks at GameSpot. The publication’s unnamed source, says the opportunity to publish a sequel to Titanfall was based on the game’s overall sales performance.

The robot-themed first-person shooter has already managed to boost Xbox One sales in the UK and it appears to be doing well in other markets. EA released a generic statement regarding this rumor, saying:

“We do not comment on rumor or speculation. Right now all our focus is on supporting all the fans worldwide enjoying Titanfall.”

As it stands, Titanfall’s console release is exclusive to the Xbox platform, however any sequels have yet to be announced and are believed to be fair game.
