Survival-horror title Outlast is now on Xbox One – Available for preorder now on the Xbox Store

Previously appearing with a console exclusive debut on PS4 – and already being available on PC – Red Barrels’ survival-horror title Outlast has finally managed to make its way to the Xbox One. This is surprising due to Microsoft controversial parity clause, which requires that an independently published game releases on Xbox One before (or at the same time as when) it launches on competing platforms. However, this clause has been enforced on a case-by-case basis, which is why we are able to play Outlast today.

Microsoft’s director of ID@Xbox program, Chris Charla, has said on multiple occasions that developers who are concerned about the clause “should email me(!),” so if you’re one of the developers who are negatively affected by this parity clause, drop him a message. I’m sure with the current momentum of good PR that Microsoft has going for them, they’ll be happy to address any concerns or issues you may find with their process.

You can go ahead and order Outlast right now, but you won’t be able to play it until June 24th. Current listings on the Xbox Store has the game set at US$19.99.
