Square Enix announces Final Fantasy Type-0 for Xbox One

It looks like Xbox One is finally about to get another RPG in the near future. Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy Type-0 will be coming to Xbox One. Unfortunately they didn’t have anything to share in terms of a release date, though considering it’s a port of an existing game (it was originally made for the original Sony PSP and only launched in Japan) it shouldn’t take too long. That, of course, could change if Square Enix decides to do a massive remastering.

Final Fantasy Type-0 is a action RPG that follows the story of Class Zero, a group of students from a magic academy whose worlds are shaken up when they are tasked with helping defeat the Milites Empire (who woke up on the wrong side of the bed one morning and decided to go to war with everyone).

The game doesn’t follow the main Final Fantasy story arc. Instead, it’s part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis that features Final Fantasy 13, Final Fantasy 13-2 and the upcoming Final Fantasy XV. It might not be the super huge blockbuster RPG we’re on the lookout for, but this should be enough to keep you satiated until the big guns are ready.
