After 14 years with Microsoft, Xbox corporate VP Marc Whitten is leaving the company, but says that better days are ahead for Xbox One owners. Recently, the departing executive was a guest on Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb’s podcast and discussed how Microsoft is realizing its true vision for its new console and that several software updates are on the way.

“Part of what’s awesome to me right now is I think you’re starting to see what Xbox One can become,” he explained. “So much for us was around, ‘Hey, let’s build this architecture that we could rev quickly, that we could add to, that was flexible, that would allow us to do more things and do more things quickly.’

“It’s a great time to be on Xbox… and it’s just beginning,” Whitten concluded by saying. “There’s so many things. I can’t wait to see where it goes from here.”

The next Xbox One system update is set to go public in April and is currently being tested by Xbox One community members.
