We’ve already heard a ton about Madden NFL 2015, but EA had some new goods on tap at E3 2014 today. They gave us a quick look at some great new gameplay mechanics, including a hard focus on defensive play. EA admitted that defense hasn’t gotten the most attention in the past few years so they wanted to reshape the experience for those who are fans of that side of the ball.
They showed off a new gameplay camera angle that gives you a look at the offense from the defense’s perspective instead of having to play from the offense’s perspective like every game before it. Beyond that, we’re getting new precision defensive moves that’ll allow you to specify how and where you want to swim, spin, pancake, tackle and more.
As a huge Madden gamer I can say that these changes are definitely welcome, much-needed and exciting to say the least. We’ll need to see a bit more from the full game to get an idea of how all of this comes together to make for a more realistic football experience, but there’s no doubt EA’s headed in the right direction. Catch a glimpse of the trailer above.
