Microsoft recently published a job opening at Lionhead Studios for a senior service engineer. Based in Guildford, England, the position is seeking someone who can be a “key contributor” to a new game.

While the listing doesn’t flat-out say the title will be for the Xbox One, its description gives a reasonable indication that it should be.

The ideal candidate is someone who has proven experience in designing and implementing services for highly concurrent and highly available social online game experiences, ideally in a cloud-based environment.

The role will focus on helping to deliver a robust online service infrastructure and associated services, ensuring that all systems are secure, optimized and will scale to meet the needs of our current and future ambitions.

What stands out the most is the reference to a “cloud-based environment.” With the Xbox One’s major emphasis on the cloud, one can’t help but think this new game will focus on Microsoft’s newest console.

Bearing in mind that Fable Legends has yet to receive a release date, Lionhead could easily be looking for help with its previously announced title. We’ll keep an eye on things and see what turns up over time and we’ll update things here if we find anything new.
