In case you haven’t heard, Rockstar has announced new next-gen and PC versions of Grand Theft Auto 5. If you missed the reveal trailer from yesterday you can watch it here, and we’re happy to say it does show a much improved world worthy of re-release on current-gen consoles. The trailer immediately revealed more lush grass and foliage in the hillsides, improved textures and lighting, and a world populated with much more vehicles and non-playable characters.

But if you couldn’t recall how Grand Theft Auto 5 looked compared to this trailer, many comparisons have already been brought to light. You can see in the GIFs and images above and below that the level of detail has been upgraded tremendously.

I personally already thought Grand Theft Auto 5 looked great on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and the fact that these image comparisons make the older versions look like something from 2005 is absolutely jaw-dropping.
