As we’ve probably hammered home by this point, the writer(s?) on XOD aren’t entirely thrilled about Destiny’s PlayStation-exclusive treatment – whether it’s the marketing, content, or retail region releases – but if a listing by Amazon is to be believed, there’s a little more for us(?) to smile about!
If the retail listing is to be believed, the unique weapons, maps, ships and gear “will only be on PlayStation until at least Fall 2015.” While not a guarantee by any means, it does seem that Bungie’s PlayStation content is timed, rather than an a full-blown exclusive, and will be making its way onto Microsoft’s Xbox One and Xbox 360 within the first year of its release.
This, of course, does not change the fact that both PS4 and PS3 players will get Destiny’s unique items/maps at launch, but the fact that it may eventually make its way onto Xbox platforms brings a smile to my face – even if by that time pretty much everyone who plays would have already got much better armor and weapons anyway.
