Deep Silver confirms the existence of Metro: Redux

As some of you may be aware, over the weekend some mysterious images popped up on an Italian forum for something called Metro: Redux, claiming that there both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light were making their way to the Xbox One and PS4 in the form of a bundle that was set to be released in July. In addition to both existing Metro titles, the rumored bundle was said to also contain a download code for some DLC, a soundtrack, art cards, and some fancy packaging.

Well, earlier this week Deep Silver posted a news letter confirming the existence of the title.

“Is Metro Redux real?

Yes. We never made any secret of 4A’s desire to bring Metro to the latest generation of console hardware.

But what you saw leaked was taken from an old, internal planning presentation, containing some nuggets of truth but a lot of hypothetical ideas and place holder material.”

The details regarding the rumored bonus items are scarce, but considering the circumstances of its confirmation, I’ll cut them some slack. Deep Silver concludes the letter stating that “we’re not quite ready to reveal 4A Games’ first next-gen console project, but we will be making an announcement this side of E3.”
