A new software patch for Dead Rising 3 is now available to download and there’s no easy way to say it, this thing is frickin’ huge! Weighing in at a hefty 13GB, the update might be the biggest patch in console gaming history. So what does such a big software bump bring?

Aside from the usual performance and stability mumbo jumbo, it adds content for the game’s upcoming DLC packs, one of which is available tomorrow. If you happen to have a sluggish internet connection, you’ll probably want to start the update before bedtime. That way things won’t seem so bad and hopefully it’ll be done installing before you wake up.

While we understand that this is a new generation of hardware and software, we can only hope that massive patches like this don’t become the new norm.
