Microsoft announced today that over 250 developers have received Xbox One development kits through its ID@Xbox program. In addition to numerous studios participating in its self-publishing initiative, the company shared details about 25 new Xbox One titles at this year’s annual Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

“Since we first announced the program in August, we’ve been working closely with developers to bring a diverse array of independent games to Xbox One,” said ID@Xbox Games Director Chris Charla in a release. “Our goal is to make the process as easy as possible so developers can focus on what matters most: creating the games you’re beginning to see today!”

The ID@Xbox program has attracted developers from nine different countries who are producing titles that take advantage of the Xbox One’s unique features like the console’s Kinect sensor, as well as making games that feature up to eight-player local gameplay.

“Our goal has always been to make Xbox One the best place to play games, and that means having a diverse portfolio for gamers to choose from,” said Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios in a press statement. “We’ve worked closely with independent developers to bring their own brand of creativity and innovation to the platform and today is just the beginning.”
