It’s been several months in the making, but we’ve finally got some concrete idea as to what exactly Microsoft’s cryptically listed Star Wars: Battlefront for Xbox One might actually be.
Back in November, a mysterious pre-order page on Microsoft’s official store for a new Star Wars Battlefront game caught the eye of… practically no one, and despite multiple attempts to bring this subject to light, it’s remained seemingly overlooked. In that time, the page has been updated a few times, resulting in the removal of the product description and the originally scheduled release date of December 31, 2013 being pushed back to February 25, 2014.
However, earlier this week it was discovered that the listing has been updated once again, only this time to include a product trailer. Interestingly enough, the trailer that has been uploaded is none-other than the teaser trailer that EA presented during its E3 conference last year.
So while there is no official box art, the page’s latest revision leads one to assume that the game in question is indeed the title that EA announced last June. Even still, we are left with more questions than answers, as the game’s listed release date is just over a month away. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on things and see if anything turns up on February 25. Something tells us not to hold our breath.
