If you picked up a PS4 before buying your Xbox One, you might notice that game installs seem to take significantly longer on your newest console. While both systems require mandatory game installs, Sony’s box appears to be ready to play at a much faster rate. In this particular demo, both systems are loaded with Need for Speed Rivals and right away the PS4 is ready to play while the Xbox One lags behind.
It’s hard to pinpoint the exact cause of this major difference but we’re sure many will speculate about why.
What we do know is that both consoles are just getting started and hopefully install times for Xbox One games will improve throughout the console’s lifecycle, but for now you might want to think of pre-install activities like replying to emails, making a sandwich or snapping random apps to pass the time.
