Fight fans who pop for the $40 Ultra Combo pack of Killer Instinct will receive two versions of the classic arcade ROM. Although they’re both the same game, one is build v1.5 packed with all of the original glitches and the other is v1.5D that cleared up some of the title’s exploits.
In an interview with Siliconera, Killer Instinct producer Torin Retting discussed the two different ROMs.
“In fact it is a complete port of two versions of the Killer Instinct arcade game,” Retting said. “It includes the original arcade ROM (v1.4) with all of the classic, fan-favorite glitches, and the revised version (v1.5D) that came out later to fix things like Cinder’s infinite combo. In addition to this, we’ve added cool extras like a training mode, frame effects like scan lines to emulate a CRT and galleries of the original sprites.”
After nearly 17 years, Killer Instinct will return on November 22nd exclusively on Xbox One.
