An alleged Xbox One owner’s manual from Brazil has hit the web and details what’s considered to be ideal Kinect sensor placement. According to the document, the sensor should be placed no higher than 1.8 meters (around six feet) from the ground and no lower than 0.6 meters (around two feet).
As for spacing, players can stand 1.4 meters (around five feet) away from the camera. The original Kinect sensor required at least six feet (in some cases eight feet) for an optimal experience.
We’ve reached out to Microsoft in hopes of validating this manual. We’ll update this story once we hear from the folks in Redmond.
