It’s pretty much a general consensus that Sunset Overdrive is not only one of Microsoft’s most exciting games of E3, but one of the biggest games of the entire show. That said, you know we had to skip on over to their big Xbox booth and check it out for ourselves.

We got our hands on the game’s 8-player co-op multiplayer mode which has you and a gang of buddies taking on waves of the OD’d (A.K.A. zombies) in massive numbers. There are only three rounds and they last about three minutes each, but throw everything you know about horde mode from Gears of War out of the window — there’s a lot on your plate in Sunset Overdrive.

You’ll be served a helping of smaller, weaker zombies to start, but there is strength in their numbers and they do come in big numbers. Reach the final wave? Get ready for the big boys, such as the herkers, blowers, and poppers. There won’t be nearly as many of these guys as the normal zombies, but it’s going to take a lot of teamwork, ammunition and guts to take them down.
