Ubisoft’s latest trailer for their upcoming 2015 title, The Division took a step back from the shooting and tactical combat we’ve seen in previous footage to tell a story, a sad one at that. Today, Ubisoft decided that it was finally time to tell us how the world of The Division came to be and boy were we not prepared.

New York has been ravaged by a disease. This disease kills a lot of people, enough to change New York from the thriving city we know today, to the dilapidated, run-down city we see in The Division. I think the most entertaining part of the trailer wasn’t the graphics but how it started with disembodied voices going through the disease.
