With E3 (finally) landing in just over a week, the final details for the show and all who will be attending are being worked out. It’s a stressful time for anyone who’s either presenting or covering the event, but what about you? What about the fan? With the large majority of E3′s events being closed to the public, watching the show online is you’re only way to be a part of the year’s greatest week for gaming, right? Well, not quite…
This year, the team over at Xbox knows that there are a lot of people who would love to be a part of the event, and who would love to celebrate all things Xbox. To that end, they’ve put together several events that will take place throughout the week, both in L.A. and online.
Microsoft Store Pre-E3 Event (Sunday, June 8 from 1-3pm, line opens at 11am)
Have you always wanted to attend the Xbox E3 Media Briefing? Well this is your chance! One hundred people who attend this event at the Microsoft Store in Century City will be granted access to Monday’s Xbox E3 Media Briefing. Winners will be selected randomly via raffle, and those lucky enough to win will also be able to take part in the Xbox: E3 Briefing Post Show. In addition, while you’re at the Microsoft Store, you’ll be able to go hands-on with ID@Xbox titles as a sneak peek of what’s on the E3 show floor before E3 even gets underway!
Pre-Show/Green Carpet (Monday, June 9 at 9am PDT)
New this year, Microsoft will be inviting fans to the final moments leading up to the show at the Galen Center. Tune in to the live stream on Xbox.com or Xbox Live to see an exclusive pre-show featuring sneak previews and interviews with some of Xbox’s leading development partners and celebrity fans as they arrive and walk down the “Green Carpet.” Expect Rooster Teeth and Stallion83 to make an appearance.
Xbox: E3 Briefing Post Show (Monday, June 9 at 11:15am)
Following Xbox: Game On, tune over to Twitch.tv/xbox for a live, fan-centric “post-game show.” Xbox leaders and developers seen on the main stage will talk more about what was just shown, and will be answering questions from Twitter and the live studio audience. Guests include Phil Spencer (Xbox Head), Chris Charla (ID@Xbox), Yusuf Mehdi (Microsoft Devices & Studios), Ted Price (Insomniac Games), and Bonnie Ross (343 Industries).
Sunset Overdrive Event at Century City Microsoft Store hosted by Major Nelson (Wednesday, June 11 from 6 – 9pm)
Insomniac Games is taking their show floor experience off the show floor, out of the LA Convention Center, and into the wild! For one night only, meet up at the Century City Microsoft Store to be among the first gamers to go hands-on with this upcoming Xbox One exclusive. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the developers, as well as Xbox Live’s Major Nelson. The event will also feature ice-cold Overcharge Delirium XT, so could ya’ grab a couple for me?
ID@Xbox on Twitch (Tuesday through Thursday during E3 show hours)
While you won’t be able to come to the floor and play the games yourself, you will be able to watch what’s being played! Every day, Microsoft will be focusing on two different ID@Xbox titles, with many of developers stopping by to chat with viewers. Additionally, keep an eye on the main Twitch channel to see many of the AAA titles announced on Monday.
