If you were hoping to get your Elder Scrolls questing on with some buddies come June, I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news for you. According to the official FAQ forum of The Elder Scrolls Online, the console versions have been pushed back from their planned release window by a staggering six months.
When does The Elder Scrolls Online officially launch? The Elder Scrolls Online officially launched on April 4, 2014 on PC and Mac. While it has become clear that our planned June release of the console versions isn’t going to be possible, we have made great progress, we have concluded that we’ll need about six more months to ensure we deliver the experience our fans expect and deserve. For additional information on the delay, please see this blog post (link).
The since-edited FAQ post was preserved thanks to a few fast-acting Redditors, and they also managed to snag a screenshot for those who require a more visual confirmation. Before altering the post, however, ZineMax was apparently deleting posts and banning users who circulated the news about the delay on their social media outlets.
ZineMax has yet to officially comment on whether or not a delay is in fact happening, but unless their FAQ was hacked, all signs point to an even later console release than was previously planned. Were you planning on picking up the Xbox One version? Or has the revenue model, in addition to the less-than-stellar reviews, lessened your excitement for the Elder Scrolls MMO?
