Microsoft recently released a new promotional video for the Xbox One, but the only thing I see is the brief glimpse of someone playing Halo 5. Clearly the inclusion of this footage was intentional, but as for what it actually means for the upcoming installment is still up in the air. Really it leaves you with one of two options: jump on the ever-escilating Hal0 5 hype train, or you can read the kill-joy clarification from 343 Industries.

“The Xbox One dashboard images shown in the recently released “Xbox One Design Show” video, were placeholder and not indicative of future game content. As previously stated, your next ‘Halo’ journey will begin in 2014, and we’ll have more detail to share at E3 in June.”

If you’re following the rumors about what the first Halo game on Xbox One will actually be, you’ll probably read “your next Halo journey will begin” as “we’re remaking Halo 2 and rejuvenating the Halo Multiplayer scene,” which is said to be releasing in November and will grant access to a Halo 5 beta.

The video in question is embedded below for those of you interested in another Xbox One sizzle reel that’s mostly a collection of lingering hardware close-ups.
