Xbox One will not support music playback via USB at launch




 

 

The Xbox One can play audio CDs and streams music from PCs on day one, but Microsoft’s new console won’t support music playback from USB drives. This information comes from Xbox director of product planning, Albert Penello who addressed a query on Twitter.

The Xbox One won’t support external hard drives at launch, so it makes sense that the console won’t recognize music files via USB. We’ve reached out to Microsoft in hopes of getting details about its planned system update.
