Every location in Destiny is “more or less the size as” Halo: Reach

Did you think that Halo: Reach was big? If so, think again. Bungie software engineer Christian Diefenbach has revealed that each major location in the studio’s forthcoming Destiny is “more or less the same size” as the ENTIRETY of Halo: Reach. In other comparisons to Reach, Diefenbach also reviled that there are currently over 500 individuals working on Destiny, were the original Halo team consisted of only 130 developers. (And considering the sheer size of the game, I think you can understand why.)

As you are hopefully already aware of, Bungie’s latest creation sees players exploring the remains of a broken solar empire, with locations including Mars, Venus, the Moon, of course good o’l Earth, and probably a few more destinations that are being kept under wraps until release. As Guardians, players will experience a combination of first-person and third-person perspectives for combat and social areas respectively – think Halo-esk combat scenarios mirrored by hub-world activities that resemble gameplay from Mass Effect.

Below is a gallery of some of the game’s known locations, and if you’d like to see the title’s latest trailer, you can do so here.
