BioWare unloads for Dragon Age: Inquisition – Reveals box-art, “The Inquisitor” trailer, and the release date

Dragon Age: Inquisition Box art

BioWare has revealed the box-art for the upcoming installment in the Dragon Age franchise: Dragon Age: Inquisition. Not only that, but it came alongside the release date and a shiny new trailer! This is the third game in the Dragon Age series, and is set after the flashback-woven events of its less-than-well-recieved predecessor, Dragon Age 2. That being said, regardless of your opinion of the franchise itself, I think it’s safe to say I speak for quite a few Fantasy RPG enthusiasts when I say that THAT is some badass box-art! Now if we can shrink that EA logo just a tiny bit, it’ll be perfect!

Regarding the box-art, the negative space behind the assumed protagonist is designed to showcase the dragon artwork that the game has embodies. (Strange, I know, for a game called Dragon Age to include, of all things, dragons!) Additionally, as you may have noticed, the protagonist is intentionally gender neutral. BioWare Creative Director Mike Laidlaw has commented on this, stating that:

“An uncertain gender was absolutely intended. It’s whoever you want to roll, essentially.”

This falls in line with the studio’s recent announcements regarding the next Mass Effect’s (apparently controversial?) inclusion mandate. Dragon Age: Inquisition is set to release on October 7th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, and all the assumable others. Are you excited for this game? Or were you too badly burned by Dragon Age 2 to continue to care about the franchise? Let us know down below!
