Microsoft files a trademark for the term ‘tailgaming’

Tailgaming

Some things work well together, for example: chef Dominique Ansel for Dominique is credited for merging a doughnut with a croissant and calling it a “cronut.” Laugh if you will, but people are going nuts for those things.

Perhaps hoping to take advantage of the trend of merging items, Microsoft recently filed a trademark for “tailgaming.” It appears the company is trying to smush the words tailgating and gaming into a single expression. Described as “arranging and conducting special events for social entertainment purposes,” Microsoft could be working on some type of marketing gimmick.

Just picture trucks loaded with Xbox Ones, barbecue pits and people with green face paint pulling into your neighborhood. All silliness aside, there’s a good chance Microsoft won’t even use this newly coined expression, but it’s just some food for thought.
